"I have always imagined that Paradise will be some kind of library." ~ Jorge Luis Borges

This start of this new year has been a celebration indeed!

It seems like September all over again - everything feels all shiny and new - and with that shiny newness comes much to celebrate:

Hooray for new books!

My book order (finally) arrived on Wednesday! I LOVE opening the boxes and getting them ready for students. I am happy to say that most were in students hands by the end of today!  Hooray for watching students looks for books in general - it always warms my heart.

Hooray for volunteers!
#thedadsquad of #awesomevolunteers showed up with coffee and quickly set to work helping to repair the information neighborhood (wonder wall). This section took a particularly hard hit during picture book month and the re-shelving since then had been tricky - butterflies are living with dolphins and spiders with goats. Thanks to their hard work, the books can once again be found where they belong.

Hooray for colleagues!
This was a week when I am reminded how much I respect my fellow library teachers and their willingness to share their time and ideas. I am hoping to write a proposal for some new technology and ran some ideas past a few #PLN friends and listened to their suggestions. Stay tuned!

Hooray for mail in my school mailbox!
I received so much good mail this week that I was embarrassed. I loved sharing the contents of this package from Debbie Ridpath Ohi. The students were very excited to see the drawing that she created virtually in the flesh. They loved the small drawings and are excited that I will frame them for the library.

Hooray for book-ish tee-shirts!
My Litographs tee-shirt came! I got Persuasion, my favorite Jane Austen novel. I also ordered a Book Nerd shirt from ETSY and will be sporting that soon.

Hooray for inspiration!
I have been listening to my inner voice as I try to envision the One Little Word that will guide me this year. I like challenging myself this way. Here some words that I am considering the word accomplish but know that I could do with some balance, and thus wonder if focus is a better choice.
