Do we Dewey? You bet!

The fourth graders have been learning about and exploring the Dewey Decimal System.  I like to do this during poetry month because the unit culminates in the students creating book spine poems, Tagxedos and Wordles that capture sections of Dewey.

Here are this year's creations: Dewey as celebrated and explained in Book Spine Poems, Wordles and Tagxedos

**The camera the students used is older and must have been losing batteries because there were some serious focus issues.  I had to delete many of the poems because they were not readable, so sad.

  1. I love your Wordles and Tagxedos!! Have you thought about using them as screensavers on your computers?

Our culminating activity for our Dewey unit is to make Dewey Diagrams using Inspiration software. Once completed, I load them all into one folder and create screensavers on our circulation computers.

Authentic assessment with a useful purpose! I leave the screensavers up all year until replaced with next year's batch.

I think your Wordles and Tagxedos could serve the same purpose!
