World Read Aloud Day is coming to a book near you!

We interrupt the Mock Caldecott frenzy to talk books and reading of a different kind.  World Read Aloud Day is an initiative of LitWorld, a nonprofit literacy organizations, whose mission is to foster resilience, hope and joy through the power of story.

"World Read Aloud Day is about taking action to show the world that the right to read and write belongs to all people. World Read Aloud Day motivates children, teens, and adults worldwide to celebrate the power of words, especially those words that are shared from one person to another, and creates a community of readers advocating for every child’s right to a safe education and access to books and technology."

I am passionate about booksabout reading and about ensuring that all children have the support they need to learn how to read as well as access to good literature.  Books do more than just provide windows and mirrors; books healbooks inspirebooks inform, and books provide endless amounts of pleasure

Where would we all be if everyone in the world could read?

Let's make it happen.  One book at a time.  One reader at a time.

Join me in participating in World Read Aloud Day
